Summer Updates!
I have been busy behind the scenes and have two big updates for you!
First… I have a mailing list! Which feels like a huge deal to me… not really that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but it makes this space feel so much more official. You can sign up for it on the main page: www.toddleronthetenuretrack.com. As a thank you for signing up, you’ll also get a 7 step guide that I put together for planning a tantrum free (ha!) academic year that includes reflection prompts and goal setting worksheets. At this point, I’m just going to use the list for announcements (read on for one to look out for). And then in the fall I'll likely start sending out monthly or bi-monthly emails out highlighting popular posts for those of you who might prefer to check out the blog that way.
Second… in mid-August I’ll be hosting a virtual planning retreat for academics (at all levels), called… you guessed it, plan(it)! I’m still figuring out a lot of the details (like the specific date… deciding between the weekend or during the week); however, stay tuned to the blog, the email list, and instagram for more details! What do you do at a virtual planning retreat you ask?! At this one, we’ll create a plan for the year as well as a plan for fall semester/quarter. We’ll walk through all of the steps I cover in my guide for planning a tantrum free academic year (which you can get by signing up for the email list) and also go through planning out fall term. At the end, you’ll have a plan for the year as well as for fall term! Because creating a detailed plan takes time, it’ll likely be a 1.5 day thing. I’m really excited about it and hope that you’re able to join me! Depending on how this one goes I may do another one in mid-September (for all you lovely people on the quarter system, like me!). I’ve gone back and forth about price and whether or not to charge since this is the first time I’m doing it. Long story short, I’m still working out these details too, but it’ll likely be somewhere between $20-$30 for this first iteration. I always appreciate when people are upfront about costs and figured I needed to do the same!
UPDATE: plan(it)* is up and running! You can check out more information on the…
Thanks for reading! And who knows, maybe I’ll see you virtually in August for the inaugural plan(it) retreat!
